Energy Master Planning

As a signatory to the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment, The University of Richmond commissioned Eneractive to develop a comprehensive energy master plan. The intent of this plan was to guide the university’s strategic and tactical efforts to meet the objectives established in their Climate Action Plan, including a 30% decrease in CO2 emissions by 2020 and climate neutrality by 2050.

The Energy Master Plan was organized to take the university from its current status to a future state of increased energy efficiency, reduced carbon emissions, and improved integration of campus processes and environmental responsibility. In developing this plan, Eneractive identified and prioritized numerous opportunities for energy and environmental improvements with the lowest cost and highest payback measures recommended for near term implementation, higher cost and more complex measures recommended as future capital projects, and emerging technologies recommended for inclusion in future building designs.
