Airflow Balance

Eneractive was contracted by the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Facilities Management team to conduct an airflow balance of the HVAC systems serving the Patients Accounts portion of the 4th Floor that is currently occupied by MSKCC in the facility located at 633 3rd Avenue in Manhattan, New York. Due to the high volume of temperature complaints received in this area, the team engaged this project with the goal of improving airflow through airflow balancing.

In order to properly determine the extent of the issues affecting the HVAC system operation, Eneractive conducted a brief investigation prior to balancing. The twelve VAVs and the associated terminal diffusers were then balanced to ensure the proper airflows were maintained. This effort also included return air readings, and the inspection, measurement and balancing of the exhaust fans.
