The Massachusetts Historical Society had become increasingly concerned with the performance of mechanical systems in its facility and expressed an interest in pursuing opportunities to reduce operating costs while concurrently improving system operation.

Understanding the difficulties of bringing the facility to an enhanced level of performance while enhancing the current interior conditions for the staff and visitors as well as the storage of historical documents, MHS contracted Eneractive to perform multiple efforts to overcome these challenges. These efforts included an energy audit, a retro-commissioning effort and the development and implementation of an energy plan and facility management. Through a comprehensive testing and analysis phase, Eneractive identified a total of 70 deficiencies and, as a result, projected the potential cost savings to far exceed the original savings goal by over 600%.
