CHRYSLER BUILDING

ASHRAE Level II Energy Audit

As part of a continuing effort to identify opportunities for energy conservation, Eneractive was contracted by Tishman Speyer to conduct an ASHRAE Level II Energy Audit at the Chrysler Building in Manhattan, New York. As per ASHRAE guidelines, Eneractive’s scope of work focused on: identifying and developing capital-intensive ECMs, which consisted of equipment upgrades and the installation of new technology, and providing an economic analysis of each issue and ECM to assist in prioritization and budgeting.

Tishman Speyer’s past efforts in energy conservation were evident in the implementation of lighting retrofits, controls upgrades, and the energy awareness and diligence of the engineering staff. The Eneractive team identified and analyzed a number of ECMs that will reduce site energy consumption annually by approximately 2,800,000 kWh and 1890 Mlbs of steam.

ACHIEVEMENTS

- $490,000 in annual energy savings and 10% of total energy consumption

- An additional $23,000 in water savings achieved through limited condensate recovery
